Bali to Lombok Flights: 83 a Week, Timetable, Flight Time, Two Airlines and Baggage

To fly from Bali to Lombok, you take a domestic flight from Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar to Lombok International Airport. As of November 2026, two airlines, TransNusa and Wings Air, fly this route 83 times a week (about 12 a day), and the timetable allows 40 to 50 minutes.

Flights start at around 07:15 and the last one leaves at around 18:00. For example, the only direct flight from Japan, Garuda Indonesia from Tokyo Narita, lands in Bali at 17:45, so there is no flight on to Lombok that day. It is written for anyone moving from Bali to Lombok or Sekotong by air, and for anyone planning the day they arrive in Bali from overseas and go on to Lombok.

How many flights are there from Bali to Lombok?

According to flightconnections (updated 5 November 2026), direct flights from Denpasar to Lombok are operated by two airlines, TransNusa (flight code 8B) and Wings Air (IW), 83 times a week or about 12 a day. The airports are 121 km apart, and the timetable allows 40 to 50 minutes. Bali and Lombok are in the same time zone, so there is no time difference.

In the sample schedule on the same page, the first flight is TransNusa at 07:15 and the last is TransNusa at 18:00. In between, Wings Air flights run from the 08:00 hour to the 17:00 hour, and TransNusa has flights around 09:00, 12:00 and 15:00. Times vary by date, so check the times for your day on the booking screen.

How do the two airlines differ?

The aircraft shown on the same page are the COMAC ARJ21 jet for TransNusa and the ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprops for Wings Air. In the sample schedule, TransNusa flights are timed at 40 to 45 minutes and Wings Air flights at 50 minutes.

Wings Air is part of the Lion Air Group. If you connect from another airline’s international flight, check on the booking screen and with the airline whether you can buy one ticket and check your bags through.

What should I watch with baggage?

How much checked baggage is free depends on the airline and the fare type. If you bring heavy bags on the assumption that the international allowance applies, you may pay extra on the domestic flight, so check the checked-baggage weight shown on the booking screen.

The Lion Air Group, which includes Wings Air, introduced new baggage rules on 1 December 2024. According to CNBC Indonesia (16 November 2024), cardboard boxes, styrofoam boxes, wooden pallets and sacks over 10 kg that exceed the set size or weight are not treated as free baggage, and you either pay an excess baggage charge at check-in (a minimum of 5 kg) or send them as cargo. Take care if you are carrying souvenirs in boxes.

Can I connect on the day I land from overseas?

As one example, flightconnections (updated 6 November 2026) shows Garuda Indonesia GA881 from Tokyo Narita as the only direct flight from Japan to Denpasar, leaving Narita at 11:00 daily and landing in Denpasar at 17:45 (about 7 hours 45 minutes). The site lists no direct flights to Denpasar from Tokyo Haneda, Nagoya or Osaka Kansai.

GA881 lands at 17:45, and the last flight to Lombok leaves at around 18:00. With immigration and the move to the domestic terminal, there is no way to connect that day. You stay a night near Bali’s airport and fly to Lombok on a morning flight from the 07:00 hour. The same applies to any international flight that lands in Bali in the evening. If you want to reach Lombok on the same day, you can connect in Jakarta instead. According to flightconnections (updated 6 November 2026), seven airlines fly Jakarta to Lombok 93 times a week, in about 2 hours, with the last flight at 16:50. How far is Sekotong from Lombok airport?

Sekotong is about 1 hour 10 minutes by car from Lombok International Airport. The Lion Air Group advises arriving at the airport 3 hours before a domestic flight. On a morning flight from Bali, you leave your hotel early, land in Lombok before noon and spend the afternoon in Sekotong.

Plane or boat?

Besides flying, you can cross from Bali to Lombok by fast boat or public ferry. The public ferry from Padang Bai in eastern Bali to Lembar on Lombok takes about 4 to 6 hours, but Lembar is only about 40 minutes by car from Sekotong. Flying means less time on board and many more departures, so it suits people who want to save time.

Downsides, and who flying suits

First, the downsides. If you land in Bali in the evening, you cannot go on to Lombok that day. The last flight is around 18:00, and if an evening flight is delayed you reach Sekotong late at night. Free checked baggage depends on the fare, and boxes may cost extra. From Lombok airport to Sekotong is another 1 hour 10 minutes or so by car.

Flying suits people who want to cut travel time and those with a lot of luggage who would rather not climb on and off boats. TransNusa and Wings Air fly from Bali to Lombok 83 times a week, 40 to 50 minutes by timetable, with flights from the 07:00 hour to about 18:00.

If you land in Bali in the evening, as on GA881 from Narita at 17:45, you cannot connect that day. Stay a night in Bali and fly the next morning, or connect in Jakarta. Check your baggage allowance on the booking screen, and allow about 1 hour 10 minutes by car from Lombok airport to Sekotong (as of November 2026).
