In short
From Lombok airport there are direct flights to Labuan Bajo (about 1 hour 15 minutes, 19 a week), Waingapu on Sumba (about 1 hour 20 minutes), Bima (about 1 hour 5 minutes), Sumbawa Besar (about 40 minutes) and Yogyakarta (about 1 hour 30 minutes), among others. Some eastbound routes have few flights, so leave slack before and after them.
Which domestic cities have direct flights from Lombok?
flightconnections lists 13 direct destinations from Lombok International Airport, 11 of them domestic (updated November 2026). The two international ones are Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. By airline, Wings Air serves 6 destinations, Super Air Jet and Lion Air 4 each, and Citilink, Batik Air and TransNusa 2 each.
Jakarta (94 a week, about 2 hours), Denpasar (83 a week, about 45 to 50 minutes) and Surabaya (36 a week, about 1 hour 5 minutes) have the most flights and work as connecting hubs. Getting to Lombok from elsewhere is on Getting to Lombok, and from Bali in Bali to Lombok: all routes.

East: Labuan Bajo, Sumba and Sumbawa
Wings Air flies to Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park, 19 times a week (as of November 2026, about 3 a day), taking about 1 hour 15 minutes (flightconnections).
To Waingapu in east Sumba, Wings Air flies an ATR 72 in about 1 hour 20 minutes. airportoverview lists departures from Lombok at 7:45, 10:35, 12:20 and 14:45 and gives 14 flights a week, but the site is inconsistent about how the route is operated, so check with the airline before booking.
To Sumbawa, the next island east, Wings Air flies to Bima in the east 14 times a week (about 1 hour 5 minutes) and to Sumbawa Besar in the west 12 times a week (about 40 minutes, departures between 9:25 and 12:55), both as of November 2026. You can also cross to Sumbawa by ferry from Kayangan in east Lombok to Poto Tano (about 1 hour 30 minutes).
Java and Sulawesi
Super Air Jet flies to Yogyakarta in about 1 hour 30 minutes. flightconnections listed 7 flights a week in November 2026 (departing 6:10) and 4 a week in September 2026. It suits a trip combining Java’s old royal city and temples such as Borobudur with Lombok. Frequency changes through the year, so check the airline timetable before fixing the rest of the trip.
Lion Air flies to Makassar on Sulawesi in about 1 hour 10 minutes, but only once a week as of September 2026. There are also flights to Balikpapan on Kalimantan and Banyuwangi at the eastern tip of Java, but we did not check their frequency or flight times for this guide.

What to watch on routes with few flights
Routes east and to Yogyakarta and Makassar have far fewer flights than those to Jakarta or Bali: one to three a day, or a few a week. If one flight is cancelled, the next may be a day or more away, so leave about a day’s slack before any onward international flight or boat booking.
On days you fly domestic from Lombok, the Lion Air Group’s guidance is to be at the airport three hours before departure. Sekotong is about 1 hour 10 minutes away by car, so leave about 4 hours 10 minutes before departure, and 30 minutes to an hour earlier in rain or traffic.
Take care
- Frequencies are figures from flight search sites; check weekday schedules with the airline
- On routes with few flights, a cancellation can push you back a day or more
- Checked baggage rules differ by airline, so check before booking
Ways to combine other islands with Lombok
With Lombok as a base, you can add Komodo and Sumba to the east, or Bali and Java to the west, in the same trip. Whatever you choose, travel days cut into time on each island, so staying on Lombok in one block at the start or end and keeping the number of moves down makes things easier.

Travel times within Lombok are in Lombok travel times, and an example week in a one-week Lombok itinerary.
A note from Sekotong
Sekotong is about 1 hour 10 minutes by car from Lombok airport and can also be where you stay before or after flying east. On the day before moving to another island, work back from the time you need to leave for the airport and fit the island trip in earlier, so the morning of the flight is not rushed.
Downsides, and who a multi-island trip suits
The downsides first. Flights east are few, and a cancellation can shift your plans by a day. Checked baggage rules differ by airline. The more travel days you add, the less time you spend on each island.
Even so, if you want to see Komodo’s sea, Sumba’s villages or Java’s temples together with Lombok’s coast on one trip, Lombok airport’s domestic flights make it possible. Semelar Beach Village’s stay programme runs from 3 nights and 4 days to 5 nights and 6 days at Rp4,800,000 per person, including airport transfers, transport, a guide, a welcome dinner and a massage (flights and accommodation are separate). The beach cafe SAKURA CAFE is open 10:00 to 22:00 (closed Mondays), and the bamboo restaurant is scheduled to open on 7 November 2026. Where to stay is on Stay.
