Entry formalities (before you fly)
Visa, e-declaration and tourist levy
- Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive.
- Visa on arrival (VOA). Apply for an e-VOA in advance and the queue is shorter. 30 days, extendable once.
- Register on “All Indonesia”, the electronic customs and arrival card, from three days before arrival, and save the QR code.
- If you enter via Bali, pay Bali’s tourist levy online. Not needed if you fly straight into Lombok.
- Keep a copy of your onward or return ticket to hand.
Rules change. Before you travel, check the latest requirements with an Indonesian embassy or official government sources. If you’re already in Indonesia, the flight from Bali or Jakarta is domestic.
From the airport to the village (transfer)
At the arrivals gate of Lombok International Airport (Praya), our staff wait holding a sign with your name. If your flight is delayed, we still wait. The drive heads south-west; partway along the road narrows, and the last stretch is a village road. The transfer is arranged as part of your stay.
From Lombok International Airport to Sekotong is about 1 hr 10 min by car. Coming by boat from Bali, it’s about 40 min from Lembar Port. There’s almost no public transport, so we arrange the transfer for you.
There are direct flights to Lombok from Bali, Jakarta, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Boats to the islands leave from Tawun Harbor.
By boat from Bali
From Padang Bai in Bali, the public ferry runs to Lembar on Lombok (about 4–6 hours) and also carries motorbikes and cars. Fast boats go to Bangsal, calling at the Gili Islands; most of them arrive in the north of Lombok, far from Sekotong. Lembar is close to Sekotong, so if you come by ferry we’ll pick you up at the port. It takes longer but costs less, and you can watch the colour of the sea change.
