The Bamboo Restaurant we have been building at Semelar Beach together with local craftspeople will hold its grand opening on 7 November 2026. Kayak hire and a guided kayak tour will also start in November, to coincide with the opening.
The Bamboo Restaurant
It is a two-storey bamboo building. The ground floor is a garden restaurant surrounded by flower beds, and the upper floor looks out to the hills and the sea. Opening hours will be posted on our Things to Do page when it opens.
Kayaking
You paddle out into the bay from the beach in front of SAKURA CAFE. We have seven kayaks and plan to start in November.
- Two- to three-seat paddle kayak: Rp120,000 an hour (about US$7)
- One-seat pedal kayak: Rp175,000 an hour (about US$10)
- Guided tour to a sandbar island: Rp300,000 per person (about US$17), 90–120 minutes
- Life jackets included
